Hi everyone! Happy #sangriasundaze This is a drink idea I’ve been playing around with for a little while and waiting for the right weekend to post it. Now that summer is in full swing and the temperature here on Long Island is expected to hit around 90 degrees today I think today is the perfect day for a sangria based on a favorite summertime cocktail. Inspired by the beloved margarita; We give you our Lime Sangrita!
This drink is a delicious refreshing combination of a margarita and sangria, with a lot of tart lime flavor and a generous serving of tequila. Truth be told tequila is NOT one of my favorite liquors but somehow in a margarita it always tastes perfect. Drinking margaritas poolside on a hot summer day is a summertime staple in my book.
This recipe is also very easy to adapt to your own personal preferences. You can create a Pineapple Lime Sangrita, or a Strawberry Lime Sangrita, or even a Watermelon Lime Sangria, mango, peach, cucumber… the options are endless! just add in the fruit of your choice at the beginning and add some of the fruit juice at the end to create something uniquely you.
4 limes sliced
